High Moon Studios has announced it is working on a sequel to last year’s Transformers: War for Cybertron. The project Fall of Cybertron was revealed on the Gameinformer website today. The game will continue the chronicle of civil war between Autobots and Decepticons, covering some of the most important events in the history of the Transformers universe.
War for Cybertron was probably the best Transformers game ever made. It featured a cast of familiar characters and a gripping, accurately written story. It treated the cartoon legacy with respect. Unreal Engine 3 made sure third-person mayhem looked glorious in HD. And it was free from restrictions imposed by three blockbuster films. We at KitGuru know that it is easier to tie your shoelaces with your teeth than to make a good game based on a film.
War for Cybertron included two single-player campaigns, for both Autobots and Decepticons. That’s double the amount of playable robots. Let’s hope the developers keep this feature. Each mission also gave you the option of choosing one out of three possible Transformers, with the rest controlled by either AI or your friends. In addition to thee-player co-op, the game offered plenty of multiplayer modes. To participate in these, you had to build your own unique transformer. That’s a win.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron will be released in Autumn 2012 on PC, PlayStation 3 and XBox 360.
