IGN Entertainment, the world’s leading games media company, today announces a new partnership with Multiplay – the specialist UK gaming event organiser and game service provider, to bring its fast growing IGN Pro League (IPL) e-sports gaming tournaments to the UK.
IGN launched the IPL earlier this year, to promote the vibrant e-sports community, leveraging its unrivalled online reach and the passion of its users to provide a platform for introducing e-sports stars to millions of gaming fans.
Since launching in April, IPL’s influence continues to grow, with more than 120,000 concurrent views for the live stream of the recent IPL3 final, live from Caesars Palace Casino, Atlantic City, USA.
The first-ever IPL regional tournament, for Blizzard Entertainment’s real time strategy game Starcraft II, will be held at Multiplay’s forthcoming insomnia44 event (http://iseries.multiplay.co.uk/) the gaming festival and 3000 attendee gaming event, taking place from November 18th to 21st at the Telford International Centre, UK.
Gamers will compete for a prize pool of $15,000/£10,000 and a guaranteed place at the IPL4 finals – held in the US next March. For fans across the globe, the IPL 4 UK Regional at insomnia44 will be live streamed online, with e-sports experts TotalBiscuit and dApollo confirmed as play-by-play casters.
