Despite the Humble THQ Bundle, coming with in-built Steam DRM and no Linux versions - thereby causing an outcry in some circles – it has continued to sell extremely well and is just shy of cresting the $4 (£2.5) million mark at the time of writing.
On top of this, THQ has also added a couple of new perks for purchasers. Paying over the average – which even with nearly 700,000 purchases is still at the pathetically low $5.61 – will now get you the Path to War DLC pack for Red Faction Armageddon, as well as classic dungeon crawler meets ancient Greece, Titan Quest.
Unfortunately for anyone hoping from a big Notch donation, the Mojang owner hasn’t made an appearance this time and neither has the Humble Brony Bundle, the blog of which hasn’t been active since July – so it could be that the bronies have ridden off into the sunset. The top donation at this point is merely $1,650.1, beating out the second place donation by one cent.
As for the THQ bundle, it still has five days t go, so it looks very likely to beat the $4 million mark. $5 million is probably unreachable at this point, but we know that THQ will have banked at least a million out of this – a nice little cash injection as well as a raising in public opinion is just what the publisher needs to stay afloat.
KitGuru Says: Despite the impressive deal on offer, I’ve played or bought a few of these in the past so this is actually the first Humble Bundle I’ve skipped out on. What about you guys?
