Whilst reading through and posting gaming news at Kitguru, sometimes we find large budget console and PC games aren’t everyone’s forte. There are a number of releases available for portable platforms like the iPad, iPhone and Nintendo DS. Today we are going to take a quick look at a free game from Capcom for the iPhone, called Dream Park.
Viewing the above screenshot you may be reminded of the PC game Roller Coaster Tycoon, as I was. In fact what you are doing is creating your own fantasy theme park. Starting with a single booth at a local fair, you can transform it into an extravagant amusement park with rides and concessions.
We would like to expand on the freemium aspect and exactly what it translates to in Apple App Store lingo. The game itself is free to download and play, but utilizes an in App premium currency in the form of tickets. These will unlock other features and enhancements during gameplay. Capcom has informed us these enhancements are available:
- Three different themes to help customize you Dream Park – Sci-Fi, Prehistoric and Fantasy/Medieval
- Upwards of 40 rides and attractions many of which animate. Watch visitors come and go, make them happy , make the cash registers ring and turnstiles spin
- Tons of items to decorate your park including roads, lamps, flags, benches and more.
The game is set to launch Q3 of 2011.
Kitguru says: Do you use your iPhone strictly for business, or favour a roller coaster ride?
