Playstation boss Jack Tretton has said at the Web 2.0 summit that Sony will be releasing their upcoming PlayStation Vita handheld gaming product on February 22, 2012. This will go on sale in U.S., Canada, Europe and Latin America on that day. Epic slo-mo has taken over this final pre-release trailer of Formula One 2011. The video is set to music composed by John Sponsler and Tom Gire, the people who wrote the additional score for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Heroic stuff. Sony has announced that the Vita handheld, due in Europe in early 2012, will support Facebook, foursquare, Skype and Twitter. What's more surprising, these applications will be available for free. Vita, although not a phone (against early speculation) already features 3G internet and GPS. Earlier today Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) announced that the UK development firm Double Eleven had just signed a deal with them.
