Up until now, Nintendo has more or less owned the market on console mascot fighting games with its Super Smash Bros series.  PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is Sony's attempt at throwing its hat into the ring with a fighter of its own that celebrates the history of the PlayStation.  Despite its unnecessarily long winded name, I feel it succeeds at being a worthy entry into this particularly ... more.
  • Assassin’s Creed III Review (PS3)

I have been sick for a while, so my review of Assassins Creed III is a little late, but as they say, better late than never! Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise is one I have liked since the very beginning.  Despite flaws here or there in gameplay, the overall experiences and scope of the worlds in which you play have always been impressive.  The sci fi element of the story has always been s... more.

Sir Hammerlock was already known to be the main focus of the new DLC pack but we now know it'll be called the Big Game Hunt (codename Safe). New features will include: A new head and... more.
  • Dishonored Review (PS3)

From the very first trailer, Dishonored appealed to me greatly.  The setting and design were just the right combination of dark and bizarre to warrant my attention so I was very much looking forward to playing through this title. In Dishonored, you take control of a former personal bodyguard of the Empress who is framed for her murder and kidnapping of her daughter.  You are freed by a group loy... more.

After a little bit of a hiatus , I return, I have a couple of older reviews to catch up on but will hopefully be up to date soon. First, let's start with Resident Evil 6, Capcom's most recent installation in its popular horror series. As I have a tendency to do, allow me to qualify my opinion in saying that I've never been that big of a fan of the Resident Evil series.  I played the original a... more.

PopCap Games, the developer behind such hit casual titles as Bejeweled, Peggle and Plants vs Zombies,is now recruiting a software engineer to help work on a new AAA console title that makes use of the Frostbite 2 engine - the same one seen in games like Battlefield 3. This would mark the first time that PopCap has stepped into the AAA arena, though with publisher EA Games backing it, it certain... more.

Ubisoft has confirmed that a bug in the recently released Hidden Secret's DLC for Assassin's Creed III has been wiping progress in main and side quests, resetting hours of gameplay. "We're able to reproduce this issue at the studio and are working on a fix/workaround," a Ubisoft dev said on the official forum, where several people have complained of major game progress being lost. FatUglyorSlutty.com offers a great insight into the ridiculous nature of sexism in gaming, but apparently it's rampant in the development side too. However developers and gamers are now speaking out about their experiences on Twitter. Using the hashtag "1reasonwhy," they explained that the reason there were so few females in the developmental field was because sexism abounds. “Applied for a... more.
  • Dragonborn DLC gets first screenshots

The first batch of screenshots for upcoming Elder Scrolls Skyrim DLC, Dragonborn, have now been released along with a feature list that shockingly, doesn't contain a bit of text telling us all about riding dragons - perhaps the most exciting part of this DLC. You can certainly see it in one of the screenshots however, so fingers crossed this is a feature that's still present. Features Exp... more.

With Borderlands 2, Gearbox Software releases a sequel to its popular FPS RPG that improves in many ways on the original. The original was successful largely due to its stylized look and irreverent sense of humor, and there's much more of the same here. The game opens with a narration explaining what's happened since the original Vault Hunters from the first game opened the vault to reveal the... more.
